What we’re called out for in Badenoch

A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Stains that will not shift
  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • A roll-top that is seen better days

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Badenoch

Resurfacing renews the whole surface of the bath without a refit. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths, and the jobs we see most are stains that won’t shift and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

What we do, step by step

Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes the best part of a day, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to Badenoch. The price comes down to:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A photo taken from further back

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

What we cannot put right

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • A bath split right through the body
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the whole room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Why us?

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

Common questions in Badenoch

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes, often. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.

Will there be fumes?

A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, and that includes Badenoch. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Do you work in Badenoch?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Badenoch from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the surface is easy:

  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface

Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, don’t use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
