Bath re-enamelling at your home in Battlefield
A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.
When to call us in Battlefield
Older baths frequently have several problems at once: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.
Common reasons people in Battlefield contact us include:
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Wear marks under the taps
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- Stains that will not shift

Should you replace it?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s also far quicker. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
Aftercare tips
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Battlefield
How soon can you come?
We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.
Is there a smell?
Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It fades as the coating cures.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.
Can landlords book you?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

The process
From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes the best part of a day, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
Ask for a price
Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your SY1 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
