Bath re-enamelling in Bedale without replacing anything
Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. If you are dealing with a bath in a colour that no longer suits and staining under the taps and around the waste, we can generally put it right, on cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and Victorian roll-tops alike.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Bedale and across North Yorkshire.

What we are called out for in Bedale
Enamel does not fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use wear the gloss away, starting where water runs and sits.
The most common problems we’re called about are:
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- Lots of chips and rust spots

Can I fix it myself?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The colour and finish to match
- The size and number of damaged areas
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Getting a price from photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

Should you replace it?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Why Bedale customers choose us
- Most jobs done in one visit
- Work done at your home or business
- Straight answers about what a repair can do
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Landlords, agents and businesses in Bedale
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
When a repair isn’t the answer
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we repair
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
The process
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the day after.
Before we arrive
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
How to get a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
