Questions from Berry Brow

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Are there extra charges for Berry Brow?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Do you come to Berry Brow?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Berry Brow and the rest of Kirklees. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Berry Brow and the rest of Kirklees. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Berry Brow

We don’t move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. It usually takes one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Whether it’s an outdated colour you’d like to change and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Why repair rather than replace?

A replacement often means several trades over several days. Re-enamelling is one technician, normally one day, with the bath back in use the next day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why us?

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • No need to remove anything
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will handle the rest.

When to call us in Berry Brow

In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • An old resurfacing that is failing
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits

Comparing quotes

  • How long it needs to cure
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Whether a trained technician does the job

Our hiring checklist

What affects the price in Berry Brow

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How much damage there is

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

How to get a fixed quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Details of any past repairs

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

What a repair cannot fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths

What we do, step by step

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes most of the day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know about parking or access

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
