Bath re-enamelling in Blackness, done in place
A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. Common call-outs are for enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping, on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Blackness as everywhere else we work.

Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

- Clear the area around the damage
Getting a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Advice
Keeping it looking good
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Store bottles off the bath
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
Work for landlords and builders
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Blackness?
Enamel doesn’t fail overnight. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths dull the surface, starting where water runs and sits.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
- Stains that will not shift
- A coloured bath you want in white
What your quote should include
- What protection goes down before work starts
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- What happens if they find more damage
- Whether the colour is mixed to match

What affects the price in Blackness
Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- How much damage there is
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The type of damage
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book.
How to get a fixed price
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:
- A photo taken from further back
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath normally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Re-enamelling takes one technician and normally one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Why us?
