Why repair rather than replace?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Prices start from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

What you get with us

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • No extra charge for your area
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Most jobs done in one visit

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Botallack

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we don’t cut corners on it. Whether it’s an outdated colour you’d like to change and wear marks under the taps, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

FAQs for Botallack

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

How do I book?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Do you cover the entire of Cornwall?

Everywhere in the UK, Botallack included. There’s no extra charge for travel.

What we cannot put right

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. You can expect it to take the best part of a day, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Getting a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Botallack. The price comes down to:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Two or three clear pictures are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath

Most clients in Botallack get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
