About our bath re-enamelling in Bràigh na h-Aoidhe
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Our repair technicians work on pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are a bath in a colour that no longer suits and a roll-top that’s seen better days.
You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Repair or replace in Bràigh na h-Aoidhe?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

The process
We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes a full day for most jobs. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
Getting ready for the visit
- Make sure the area is dry
- Clear the area around the damage
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
Ask for a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.
Advice
Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Can I fix it myself?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
