About our bath re-enamelling in Brimley

Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the next day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. Whether it’s stains that won’t shift and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, we can usually put it right.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

For landlords and businesses

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Brimley use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

What we cannot put right

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A bath split right through the body

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

Repair or replace: which is better?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

Why us?

  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Normally one visit, start to finish
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for the best part of a day. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Clear the area around the damage

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and scrubbing it wears it down further. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • Chips and rust in more than one place

Brimley questions

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How long does re-enamelling take?

Most baths are done in a day, ready the day after. We give you timings with the quote.

What areas do you cover?

All of Devon, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Do you come to Brimley?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Brimley for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes, we do this regularly. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

Care for it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Brimley. The price comes down to:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Doing more than one item at once

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Brimley. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Phone photos are fine, there’s no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A photo taken from further back
  • The material, if you know it

Send us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Brimley, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.
