Bath re-enamelling at your home in Brough

Resurfacing renews the whole surface of the bath without a refit. It’s the answer when the whole bath is tired rather than one spot. Whether it’s a roll-top that’s seen better days and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, we can help.

What happens on the day

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to most of the day, including clearing up.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

How to care for the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it

Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.

Common problems we fix in Brough

Hard water speeds up the wear, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Lots of chips and rust spots

Questions to ask before you book

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • How long it needs to cure
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • What protection goes down before work starts

Choosing a repair company

For landlords and businesses

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • The material
  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How hard the colour is to match

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Why repair rather than replace?

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Nothing else is disturbed. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book.

Why Brough customers choose us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

When a repair isn’t the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • A metal bath with a through crack

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths

Brough questions

Will the new finish last?

That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Usually, yes. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Mention it when you send photos.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Do you need to take the bath out?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes, most people go for white. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.
