Bath re-enamelling in Bwlch without replacing anything
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Whether it’s worn patches where water runs and sits and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, we can normally put it right, on Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths alike.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it.

Why repair rather than replace?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the following day. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
For landlords and businesses
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Powys and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Bwlch questions
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Bwlch.
Can pets and children be at home?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
What information do you need?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Bwlch?
Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.
Will the new finish last?
It depends on preparation, use and care. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year.
How long is the bath unusable?
Most baths are done in a day, ready the next day. We give you timings with the quote.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Bwlch. The price reflects:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The material
- The colour and finish to match
Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
Getting a price from photos
You can take the pictures on your phone. Just make sure we can see:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- What it’s made of, if you know
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
When a repair is not the answer
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
What we work on
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
What we’re called out for in Bwlch
The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- An old resurfacing that is failing
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
What your quote should include
- How soon you can use it again
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
The process
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a full day from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Before we arrive
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
