Bath Re-enamelling in Carfin
Bath re-enamelling in Carfin without the cost of replacing. Send us pictures for a fixed price, then book a visit.
- Resurfacing from £350
- Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough
- Chips and rust in more than one place

Honest limits
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:
- A bath that’s rusted through
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
Bath re-enamelling at your home in Carfin
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. We’re often asked to fix a roll-top that’s seen better days and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, on basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths.
Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee.

The process
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take the best part of a day. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Before we arrive
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
Getting a price

FAQs for Carfin
When can you do it?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
Will you leave a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Will the price change on the day?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.
Will the bath be moved?
Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes, we do this regularly. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
Keeping it looking good
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further.
Can I fix it myself?
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing normally wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Doing more than one item at once
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Send photos for a quote
Phone pictures are fine. Just ensure we can see:
- Where you are, by postcode
- A picture taken from further back
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Something in shot to show the size
If you are in Carfin and want a price, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
