Bath re-enamelling in Chapel without replacing anything
The bath stays where it is, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the next day. Whether it’s enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and a coating lifting around the plughole, we can help, whatever the material.

Can I fix it myself?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
Looking after it afterwards
It’s all simple stuff:
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Never use suction bath mats
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
FAQs for Chapel
How long does re-enamelling take?
One day for most baths, ready the next day. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
How long does re-enamelling last?
That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and our work is guaranteed for a year.
Are there extra charges for Chapel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Is there any odour?
It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Chapel?
Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.
Will there be fumes?
There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.
When a repair is not the answer
A repair isn’t right for every job, including:
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
Should you replace it?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the whole room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Chapel. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What we do, step by step
We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Before we arrive
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Open a window if you can

How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Chapel. What changes the price is:
- How much damage there is
- The material and finish
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether we combine several jobs
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed price
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Any details about the material
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
