What we’re called out for in Chapel Row
In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and gritty cleaners are the worst culprits.
Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- Chips and rust in more than one place
Questions to ask before you book

- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- When it can be used again
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
About our bath re-enamelling in Chapel Row
A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. We work on cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths, and common reasons people get in touch are worn patches where water runs and sits and staining under the taps and around the waste.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
FAQs for Chapel Row
Is there a smell?
Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.
Does the bath have to be removed?
No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.
Will you leave a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Can tenants book a repair?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
Can you quote from pictures?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
How long does re-enamelling take?
Generally one day, with the bath ready the day after. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes, white is the usual choice. Mention the colour you want when you send photos.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.
Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
Honest limits
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We cannot fix:
- Steel that has corroded right through
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
Why repair rather than replace?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Chapel Row. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Why us?
- A fixed quote before you book
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

How it works
Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Allow most of the day. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
How to prepare
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
Ask for a price

Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
