Bath re-enamelling at your home in Cheesden
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. Common call-outs are for an outdated colour you’d like to change and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, on pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

When to call us in Cheesden
Often the bath has just had decades of use, with nothing wrong except the surface. The body of the bath is generally perfectly sound.
Look out for these signs:
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
- Stains that won’t shift
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
Before you book anyone
- Who turns up on the day
- What aftercare is recommended
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale cannot build up.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Questions from Cheesden
What do you need from me?
Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.
Will there be a smell?
Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.
How long is the bath unusable?
Normally a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
What does bath re-enamelling cost?
Prices start from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.
Do you need to take the bath out?
Not at all. We work on the bath in place, with the room protected and ventilated.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
How it works
You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It generally takes the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the next day.
Preparing for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Repair or replace: which is better?
If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Nothing else is disturbed. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
When a repair isn’t the answer
A repair is not right for every job, for example:
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
What we work on
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
