Bath re-enamelling at your home in Clungunford
A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. Our technicians work on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops, and common reasons people get in touch are a coloured bath you want in white and several chips and rust patches.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Repair or replace in Clungunford?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Prices start from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. This is what makes a difference:
- How hard the colour is to match
- The type of damage
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- What the surface is made of
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Quotes from your photos
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Something in shot to show the size
- A photo taken from further back
- Any details about the material
Send us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Clungunford, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
Clungunford: your questions answered
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.
Will the price change on the day?
Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
Is repairing better than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
What information do you need?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
What we can’t put right
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Steel that has corroded right through
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.
Keeping it looking good
Looking after the surface is easy:
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
When to call us in Clungunford
By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.
Send us a picture if you notice any of these:
- A roll-top that is seen better days
- Stains that won’t shift
- Several chips and rust patches
- A coloured bath you want in white
Before booking anyone
- How changes to the job are handled
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
- Who will actually do the work
- How the colour is matched
The process
Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a full day, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Let us know about parking or access
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
