Bath re-enamelling in Commercial End

Bath re-enamelling in Commercial End without replacing anything

After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. If you’re dealing with wear marks under the taps and lots of chips and rust spots, we can usually put it right, on cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and acrylic baths alike.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

How to look after the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, to stop limescale building up.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

How the visit works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes the best part of a day. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the next day.

Advice

What affects the price in Commercial End

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The type of damage
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The material, if you know it

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why us?

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Colour-matched on site
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

When to call us in Commercial End

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • A coating lifting around the plughole

Our hiring checklist

When we’d advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
