Bath re-enamelling & resurfacing in Comp, Kent
Local bath re-enamelling for Comp: photo quotes, tidy work and a year’s guarantee.
- Resurfacing from £350
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping

When to call us in Comp
In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.
Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Lots of chips and rust spots
Questions to ask before booking
- How long it needs to cure
- How the colour is matched
- What protection goes down before work starts
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
Bath re-enamelling in Comp without replacing anything
The bath stays where it is, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. It generally takes one visit, and can be used again the next day. Whether it’s lots of chips and rust spots and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What else we do in Comp
Aftercare tips
To keep it looking its best for years:
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
What we cannot put right
We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- A bath split right through the body
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Steel that has corroded right through
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Why repair rather than replace?
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the whole room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Prices start from £350. Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

FAQs for Comp
Will the new finish last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Is there a smell?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Do I have to be there?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Can you make a coloured bath white?
Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
Will the bath be moved?
No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Comp
Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- Doing more than one item at once
- The colour and finish to match
- How many areas need work
- The material and finish
Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
Quotes from your photos
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A photo taken from further back
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- One sharp close-up of the damage
Send us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Comp, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
What happens on the day
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take most of the day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.
Before we arrive
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
