Bath re-enamelling in Drugger's End without replacing anything
The bath stays where it is, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Our repair technicians work on cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths, and the jobs we see most are a bath in a colour that no longer suits and a peeling or bubbling previous coating.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Drugger's End questions
Does re-enamelling smell?
Yes, while we’re applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Can you repair several things at once?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.
Is there a guarantee?
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.
Is there a call-out fee?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.
How long does re-enamelling take?
Normally one day, with the bath ready the next day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
Can landlords book you?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

How the visit works
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes the best part of a day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- The bath is left to cure and can normally be used the next day.
How to prepare
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Open a window if you can
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Advice
Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
When to call us in Drugger's End
Often the bath has just had decades of use. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is normally as strong as ever.
Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- A coloured bath you want in white
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
What to look for in a quote
- How long it needs to cure
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- Who turns up on the day
Work for landlords and builders
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Drugger's End as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
What your bath is made of matters
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How hard the colour is to match
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.
Send pictures for a quote
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- Details of any past repairs
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Where you are, by postcode
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
To get a price, send a couple of photos through our quote form or call us. We’ll say immediately whether it can be repaired.
Looking after it afterwards
To keep it looking its best for years:
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Repair dripping taps early
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
