About bath repair in WR13

We see every kind of bath damage: dropped-bottle chips, plughole rust, acrylic cracks and impact holes. All of it is repaired where the bath stands with a one-year guarantee. We’re often asked to fix snagging damage from a refit and rusty patches near the plughole, across acrylic, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a morning or an afternoon, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the following day.

Cost

Our bath repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent

Look after the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What we are called out for in WR13

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

Customers generally contact us about:

  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • A cracked acrylic bath

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including WR13. The price reflects:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Doing more than one item at once

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Quotes from your photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Email us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in WR13, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
