About our bath re-enamelling in Eastville

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. If you’re dealing with an old resurfacing that’s failing and an outdated colour you’d like to change, we can help.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it.

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. It normally takes the best part of a day.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Related advice

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Eastville?

In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

Look out for any of the following:

  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • Stains that won’t shift
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • Thin, worn enamel in places

Our hiring checklist

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Eastville. The price reflects:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from pictures

Phone photos are fine. Ensure they show:

  • One picture of the entire bath
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Most customers in Eastville get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Eastville questions

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Lincolnshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Normally, yes. The old repair comes out first.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes, frequently. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

How do I book?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths

Landlord and trade work in Eastville

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

Repair or replace in Eastville?

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, typically one day, and the bath is usable the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Never use suction bath mats
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
