Bath re-enamelling in Evendine without replacing anything
After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. If you’re dealing with staining under the taps and around the waste and a coating lifting around the plughole, we can help, whatever the material.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

How to care for the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Repair dripping taps early
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Repair dripping taps promptly.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
FAQs for Evendine
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Can landlords book you?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Can tenants book a repair?
Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Will you leave a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Do you need to take the bath out?
Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room masked and ventilated.
What areas do you cover?
All of Herefordshire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Is there a call-out fee?
We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.
When to call us in Evendine
Previous coatings can fail too, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.
Look out for any of the following:
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- Several chips and rust patches
- A coloured bath you want in white
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
What to look for in a quote
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What preparation is included
- Aftercare advice
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath normally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Re-enamelling takes one technician and normally one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Prices start from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Why us?
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
- Colour-matched on site
- One price list for the whole UK

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
For landlords and businesses
Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details.
The process
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to the best part of a day, including clearing up.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the following day.
Before we arrive
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Have a window or extractor fan available
