Fallowfield: your questions answered
Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?
Yes. We can do the inside and outside if you’d like.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
Can you quote from photos?
Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Can pets and children be at home?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Will you leave a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.
Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?
Normally, yes. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
Bath re-enamelling at your home in Fallowfield
If your bath is sound but looks tired, resurfacing is normally the best value. There’s no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. We are frequently asked to fix worn patches where water runs and sits and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, across basins & shower trays, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

Keeping it looking good
Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Store bottles off the bath
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How hard the colour is to match
- How easy the damage is to reach
The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.
Getting a price from photos
When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- The material, if you know it
- Something in shot to show the size
You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
What a repair can’t fix
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Repairing versus replacing in Fallowfield
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What we do, step by step
Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow the best part of a day from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
How to prepare
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Clear the area around the damage
- Open a window if you can
