Bath re-enamelling for Farleigh homes

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • No need to remove anything
  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

Bath re-enamelling in Farleigh, done in place

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Our technicians work on pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths, and common reasons people contact us are stains that won’t shift and lots of chips and rust spots.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back.

What affects the price in Farleigh

Prices start from £350. We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The colour and finish to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Farleigh. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Get any chip repaired quickly

Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

When we would advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • A bath split right through the body

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Farleigh: your questions answered

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

Look after it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

Do you come to Farleigh?

We do. We send a technician to Farleigh for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Does re-enamelling smell?

There is some smell while the coating is applied, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It fades as the coating cures.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Typically, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

What happens next?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Farleigh as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

What happens on the day

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Advice

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
