Bath re-enamelling at your home in Felbridge

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It suits anyone happy with the bathroom apart from the bath. We’re frequently asked to fix a peeling or bubbling previous coating and an outdated colour you’d like to change, on acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

How the visit works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes most of the day. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know about parking or access

Getting a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Felbridge. What changes the price is:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many areas need work

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Felbridge as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

For anyone letting property in or around Felbridge, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Felbridge questions

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Mention it when you send pictures.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

What happens next?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Felbridge.

Will the new finish last?

It depends on preparation, use and care. With good preparation and gentle cleaning it lasts a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes, most people go for white. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

How to care for the repair

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
