When to call us in Feock
Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. We strip what’s failing and start again.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- Worn patches where water runs and sits
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
Questions to ask before you book
- How to care for the finish
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
How we handle bath re-enamelling in Feock
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. We are frequently asked to fix enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and a peeling or bubbling previous coating, in acrylic baths, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Common questions in Feock
What happens after I send photos?
We come back with a fixed price. There’s no obligation to book.
Can you price it without visiting?
Generally, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
When can you do it?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- What the surface is made of
- The colour and finish to match
Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
How to get a fixed quote
Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- One picture of the whole bath
- Where you are, by postcode
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- What it’s made of, if you know
There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
Honest limits
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- A metal bath with a through crack
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.
What we work on
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Aftercare tips
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
Work for landlords and builders
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Repairing versus replacing in Feock
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing normally wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
How the visit works
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a full day from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to care for it.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Before we arrive
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Have a window or extractor fan available
