Bath re-enamelling near Foxhole

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Foxhole

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, so Foxhole is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

How long does re-enamelling take?

Most baths are done in a day and can be used the day after. We will confirm timings when we quote.

Can you fix a peeling bath coating?

Typically, yes. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Mention it when you send pictures.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Foxhole

A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Common call-outs are for chips and rust in more than one place and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping, across acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and basins & shower trays.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • How many areas need work
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What the surface is made of

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

How to get a fixed price

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Upload a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you are in Foxhole, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Swansea and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

What we can’t put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • A bath that’s rusted through
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

10 questions to ask before you book

What we do, step by step

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes most of the day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Repair or replace: which is better?

A replacement frequently means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and generally a day, with the bath back in use the next day. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
