How we handle bath re-enamelling in Fyfield
If your bath is sound but looks tired, resurfacing is normally the best value. There’s no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. If you are dealing with a coating lifting around the plughole and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, we can typically put it right, on cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and basins & shower trays alike.
All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Wiltshire.

What we are called out for in Fyfield
By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.
The most common problems we are called about are:
- Stains that won’t shift
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
What to look for in a quote
- Whether they match the colour on site
- What preparation is included
- How changes to the job are handled
- Who turns up on the day
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we pay close attention there.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- What kind of damage it is
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How many items we do on one visit
- The material and finish
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed price
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Any details about the material
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Where you are, by postcode
Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your SN8 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
When we would advise against a repair
Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- A bath that is rusted through
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Aftercare tips
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Never use suction bath mats
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, especially in hard water areas, to stop limescale building up.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Fyfield
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Typically, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
What areas do you cover?
We cover the whole UK, including Fyfield and the rest of Wiltshire. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.
How long does re-enamelling last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Will there be fumes?
Some odour is normal while we spray, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It clears as the finish cures.
Is there any odour?
There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.
How long will the bath be out of use?
Usually one day, with the bath ready the next day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Work for landlords and builders
We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book.
