Bath re-enamelling at your home in Georgetown
Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. We regularly repair cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops, and common reasons people get in touch are a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and a bath in a colour that no longer suits.
Every job is backed for twelve months in Georgetown and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. We price every job individually, from your pictures. The main factors are:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How much damage there is
- Access to the area
- Whether we combine several jobs
Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.
How to get a fixed quote
Two or three clear photos are typically enough. Try to include:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- One picture of the whole bath
Upload a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, with your NP22 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Georgetown questions
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.
Do you work in Georgetown?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Georgetown and the rest of Blaenau Gwent. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Blaenau Gwent.
Can you quote from pictures?
In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.
How long does re-enamelling last?
Look after it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Will the bath be moved?
No, it stays where it is. We work on the bath in place, with the room masked and ventilated.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
How the visit works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes the best part of a day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Open a window if you can
- Keep a parking space free if you can

Repairs by material
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Repairing versus replacing in Georgetown
Replacing a bath generally involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the next day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Honest limits
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- A metal bath with a through crack
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

- Basins & shower trays
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
Aftercare tips
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
Dry the bath after use if possible, and rinse off any bath products.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
