Bath Re-enamelling in Gilson
Problem with your bath in Gilson? We put it right where it is, match it on site and guarantee the work for a year.
- Resurfacing from £350

- A coloured bath you want in white

What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
About our bath re-enamelling in Gilson
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. We are often asked to fix chips and rust in more than one place and an old resurfacing that’s failing, on acrylic baths, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Gilson and across Warwickshire.

DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Gilson. The price depends on:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Doing more than one item at once
Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Quotes from your pictures
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- What it’s made of, if you know
Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your B46 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
When to call us in Gilson
Enamel doesn’t fail overnight. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths dull the surface, typically first under the taps and around the waste.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
Before booking anyone
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- What protection goes down before work starts
Repair or replace: which is better?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: they’re heavy, frequently need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Prices start from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why us?
- Fixed prices from your pictures
- Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
- No need to remove anything
- One price list for the whole UK

Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Never use suction bath mats
Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, don’t use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

Questions from Gilson
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
How long is the bath unusable?
Generally one day, with the bath ready the day after. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Is there a smell?
Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.
