Questions from Guide Bridge
Is my repair covered?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Is there a call-out fee?
There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we will plan for it.
Do you need to take the bath out?
No. We resurface it in place, so the tiles and taps stay put.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we will quote them together.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Usually, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Which areas do you work in?
We cover the whole UK, including Guide Bridge and the rest of Tameside. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.
How long will the bath be out of use?
Typically a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Access to the area
- The size and number of damaged areas
Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
How to get a fixed quote
You can take the pictures on your phone. Ensure they show:
- Natural light rather than flash
- Where you are, by postcode
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Work for landlords and builders
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll handle the rest.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Tameside and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Repair or replace: which is better?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is generally much cheaper than replacing it, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

When a repair isn’t the answer
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Holes rusted through the metal
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
What we work on
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Keeping it looking good
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Have chips seen to early
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
How it works
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes most of the day. If anything looks different from your pictures, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.
How to prepare
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Let us know about parking or access
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
How to get a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
