Bath re-enamelling at your home in Mossley

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths, and people most often call us about a coloured bath you want in white and several chips and rust patches.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Mossley

A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That is the point where re-enamelling makes sense.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • Stains that will not shift
  • A roll-top that’s seen better days

What your quote should include

  • Who will actually do the work
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What prep work is covered
  • How your room will be protected

Choosing a repair company

Why repair rather than replace?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • Colour-matched on site
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • No need to remove anything

Read our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • How much damage there is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to most of the day, including clearing up.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Let us know about parking or access

Ask for a price

Upload a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Mossley, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Mossley

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Tameside and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, so limescale cannot build up.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and any rust spreads underneath. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

Questions from Mossley

Will the bath be moved?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so the tiles and taps stay put.

Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.

How quickly can you book me in?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Tameside. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.
