Bath re-enamelling in Heybridge Basin

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

About our bath re-enamelling in Heybridge Basin

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. We work on basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops, and the jobs we see most are thin, worn enamel in places and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • What the surface is made of

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One picture of the whole bath

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Never use suction bath mats
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, especially in hard water areas, and rinse off any bath products.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface.

Common questions in Heybridge Basin

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Heybridge Basin?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your CM9 postcode.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, and that includes Heybridge Basin. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. We resurface it in place, so nothing else is disturbed.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

How it works

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Allow most of the day. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Getting a price

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

What a repair cannot fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Steel that has corroded right through

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Repairing versus replacing in Heybridge Basin

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, with the bath ready the day after. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
