How we handle bath re-enamelling in Hillpark

When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. Whether it’s stains that won’t shift and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, we can typically put it right.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes most of the day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

FAQs for Hillpark

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Will there be fumes?

Yes, while we are applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Do you need to take the bath out?

No, it stays where it is. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.

Do you cover Hillpark?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Hillpark from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Why repair rather than replace?

A replacement often means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and typically a day, and the bath is usable the day after. Prices start from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

What you get with us

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • One visit for most repairs

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Hillpark. The price reflects:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Details of any past repairs

To get a price, send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

When we’d advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Hillpark

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Aftercare tips

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

If a previous coating is starting to peel, do not pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Hillpark

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Glasgow and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
