Bath re-enamelling in Hinderclay, done in place

Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. We are frequently asked to fix brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and thin, worn enamel in places, in Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a bath typically involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Hinderclay. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why us?

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

How to care for the repair

To keep it looking its best:

  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly

Dry the bath after use if possible, and rinse off any bath products.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. This is what makes a difference:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How hard the colour is to match

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from photos

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the entire bath

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

How the visit works

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a full day, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Ask for a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

What we’re called out for in Hinderclay

The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
  • Stains that will not shift

Before you book anyone

  • When it can be used again
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • Whether a trained technician does the job

Hinderclay questions

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Hinderclay?

Resurfacing from £350. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

When can you do it?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

Do you come to Hinderclay?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Hinderclay. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Landlord and trade work in Hinderclay

If you manage property in Hinderclay, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

What we can’t put right

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
