How we handle bath re-enamelling in Inbhir Aora

Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without a refit. It suits baths that are dull, stained, rough or chipped all over. We are often asked to fix thin, worn enamel in places and chips and rust in more than one place, across pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Inbhir Aora as everywhere else we work.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

How to get a fixed price

You can take the photos on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Why repair rather than replace?

There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Prices start from £350. Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What we do, step by step

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which usually takes most of the day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Open a window if you can

Advice

When a repair isn’t the answer

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • A bath split right through the body
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

FAQs for Inbhir Aora

Is there a smell?

Yes, while we are applying the finish. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

How long will the bath be out of use?

Normally one day, with the bath ready the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Inbhir Aora

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Common problems we fix in Inbhir Aora

Often the bath has just had decades of use. The body of the bath is typically perfectly sound.

Look out for these signs:

  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change

What your quote should include

  • How the colour is matched
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Who turns up on the day
  • How your room will be protected

How to compare quotes

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

How to care for the repair

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Have chips seen to early
  • Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface

Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.

Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It just wears the enamel further.
