Bath re-enamelling in Kemps Green, done in place
We do not move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. It generally takes one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Our repair technicians work on Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths, and people most often call us about thin, worn enamel in places and an old resurfacing that’s failing.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- What kind of damage it is
- How much damage there is
- The material
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Getting a price from pictures
Phone photos are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- One picture of the whole bath
- What it’s made of, if you know
There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Should you replace it?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to care for the repair
A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Store bottles off the bath
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale cannot build up.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
How the visit works
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes most of the day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the next day.
Before we arrive
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Open a window if you can
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Can I fix it myself?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
What we can’t put right
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.
What we work on
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Cast iron baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
Kemps Green questions
What areas do you cover?
We work UK-wide. Prices don’t change with location.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
How long does re-enamelling take?
Normally a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
What happens after I send pictures?
We come back with a fixed quote, plus dates. You’re under no obligation.
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Kemps Green?
Prices start from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.
Do the materials smell?
A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Kemps Green
In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- A coloured bath you want in white
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- Stains that will not shift
