Bath re-enamelling & resurfacing in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire
Damaged bath in Stratford-upon-Avon? We repair it in place, match it on site and guarantee the work for a year.
- Resurfacing from £350
- Stains that won’t shift
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it

Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Bath re-enamelling in Stratford-upon-Avon, done in place
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. We regularly repair basins & shower trays, acrylic baths and cast iron baths, and common reasons people contact us are wear marks under the taps and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a bath usually involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Re-enamelling takes one technician and generally one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Keeping it looking good
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, do not use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and any rust spreads underneath. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
When a repair is not the answer
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- Steel that has corroded right through
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Stratford-upon-Avon
The gloss on enamel is thin, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
What to look for in a quote
- How changes to the job are handled
- How your room will be protected
- How soon you can use it again
- How to care for the finish
How it works
We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes the best part of a day for most jobs. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the next day.
How to prepare
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
