Bath re-enamelling near Keynor Estate

Bath re-enamelling in Keynor Estate without replacing anything

Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and acrylic baths can be resurfaced too. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. If you’re dealing with lots of chips and rust spots and a roll-top that’s seen better days, we can generally put it right.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling gives the bath a new finish with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What you get with us

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Work done at your home or business
  • No extra charge for your area
  • No need to remove anything

What we do, step by step

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. You can expect it to take the best part of a day, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

What affects the price in Keynor Estate

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Email us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your PO20 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Repairs by material

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Keynor Estate questions

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Typically, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes, often. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Typically, yes. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Mention it when you send photos.

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best:

  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners, avoid suction bath mats, and do not leave bottles or razors standing on the surface.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
