Trusted bath re-enamelling in Knucklas

Landlord and trade work in Knucklas

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Knucklas as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

About our bath re-enamelling in Knucklas

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Common call-outs are for a peeling or bubbling previous coating and several chips and rust patches, across basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and acrylic baths.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

What a repair can’t fix

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • A bath that is rusted through
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • Acrylic that moves when you stand in it

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Knucklas

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Knucklas: your questions answered

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes. Inside and out if you’d like.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We come back with a fixed price, generally with dates to choose from. There is no obligation to book.

Do you cover the entire of Powys?

Across the UK. Prices don’t change with location.

Will the bath be moved?

Not at all. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we will quote them together.

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes most of the day. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the next day.

Advice

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Most customers in Knucklas get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, as they can stain. Fix dripping taps quickly.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

Repair or replace in Knucklas?

There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Prices start from £350. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What you get with us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing

When to call us in Knucklas

Older baths frequently have several problems at once: worn patches, chips, rust spots and stains. Re-enamelling deals with all of them in one go.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Several chips and rust patches
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
