Bath re-enamelling at your home in Llwyn
We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, and we take our time over it. We regularly repair cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths, and people most frequently call us about enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and a period or roll-top bath worth keeping.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

The most common problems we are called about are:
- An old resurfacing that is failing
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Several chips and rust patches
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean

How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The material and finish
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How many areas need work
We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Quotes from your pictures
You can take the pictures on your phone. Ensure they show:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- The material, if you know it
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.
Llwyn: your questions answered
Will there be fumes?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
What areas do you cover?
The entire UK, including all of Shropshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll offer you dates.
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes, most people go for white. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.
Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?
Yes, we do this regularly. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
Is there a call-out fee?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.
What does bath re-enamelling cost?
Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to look after the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs right away
- Repair dripping taps early
- Respect the curing time we give you
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
Honest limits
A repair is not always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:
- A bath split right through the body
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
Materials we repair
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
How the visit works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It normally takes a full day, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the next day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Let us know which floor the room is on
