About our bath re-enamelling in Laisterdyke
When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. Whether it’s a coating lifting around the plughole and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, we can help, whatever the material.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

How the visit works
You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes the best part of a day, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Keeping it looking good
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Never use suction bath mats
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale cannot build up.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Laisterdyke
How durable is a resurfaced bath?
It depends on preparation, use and care. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and it’s guaranteed for a year.
Is my repair covered?
Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
How long will the bath be out of use?
One day for most baths and can be used the day after. We give you timings with the quote.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
How do I book?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
Do the materials smell?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

When a repair is not the answer

- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Repairing versus replacing in Laisterdyke
When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
