When to call us in Litherland

Once enamel loses its gloss, it stains more easily, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Chips and rust in more than one place
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

10 questions to ask before booking

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Litherland

Re-enamelling gives a worn bath a new glossy surface without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. We’re often asked to fix lots of chips and rust spots and an old resurfacing that’s failing, in basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Should you replace it?

A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, re-tiling or making good the walls and days without a bathroom. Resurfacing renews the whole surface without moving it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Why Litherland customers choose us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. Once we’re there, the work takes the best part of a day for most jobs. The room is left tidy.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Advice

Honest limits

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we work on in Litherland

  • Cast iron baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Pressed steel baths

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Fix dripping taps quickly
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it

Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Repair dripping taps promptly.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

Work for landlords and builders

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.

Common questions in Litherland

Are there extra charges for Litherland?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your L21 postcode.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, and that includes Litherland. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

How long will the bath be out of use?

One day for most baths and can be used the day after. We will confirm timings when we quote.

Does the bath have to be removed?

No. We resurface it in place, so the tiles and taps stay put.
