How we handle bath re-enamelling in Little Ouse
After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, so we do not cut corners on it. Common call-outs are for stains that won’t shift and thin, worn enamel in places, on basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Little Ouse as everywhere else we work.

Aftercare tips
It’s all simple stuff:
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
- Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Repair dripping taps early
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.
Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.
Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The type of damage
- How many areas need work
- The colour and finish to match
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Quotes from your pictures
Phone photos are fine. Make sure they show:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- The material, if you know it
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
If you’re in Little Ouse and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
DIY kit or professional repair?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
