Questions from Low Valleyfield
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.
Which areas do you work in?
The whole UK, including all of Fife. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Normally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.
Will the bath be moved?
No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.
Can you quote from pictures?
Usually, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
About our bath re-enamelling in Low Valleyfield
The bath stays where it is, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Common call-outs are for a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, across pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and basins & shower trays.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What kind of damage it is
- What the surface is made of
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Send photos for a quote
Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A picture taken from further back
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
Upload pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Low Valleyfield, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

How to look after the repair
To keep it looking its best:
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, particularly with hard water, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
What a repair can’t fix
A repair is not right for every job, including:
- A bath split right through the body
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Why repair rather than replace?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and typically one day, with the bath ready the following day. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Why us?
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- We leave the room as we found it
- Free fixed quotes from pictures
- Same prices wherever you are

What we do, step by step
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take the best part of a day, tidy-up included.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Let us know about parking or access
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
Getting a price
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
