Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The type of damage

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Any details about the material
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Manson?

By the time a bath is a few decades old, it may have a mix of issues: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
  • Wear marks under the taps
  • A roll-top that’s seen better days
  • A coloured bath you want in white

What to look for in a quote

  • Who will actually do the work
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • How the colour is matched

Our hiring checklist

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface

The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Manson

Will the new finish last?

Look after it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

How long will the bath be out of use?

Typically one day, with the bath ready the day after. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

Do I need to be at home?

We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes most of the day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

How to prepare

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, normally one day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Most jobs done in one visit

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
