Bath repair at your home in NP25
Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in a single visit. Common call-outs are for a hole punched through by something heavy and deep scratches in acrylic, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic.
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and how to look after it.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.
Pricing in NP25
Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

What’s near Monmouth
In Monmouth, that means homes near Haberdashers' Monmouth School, Monmouth Comprehensive School and The Vine Tree pub. You’ll also find Overmonnow C.P. School (less than half a mile west), St Thomas's Church (under half a mile south) and Vauxhall Fields (less than half a mile north-west). A little further out are Monmouth Castle (under half a mile north-east) and Kirbee Rural Crafts Museum (3.9 miles north-east). Not far away are Prisk Wood and St Dial's Hill.
Aftercare tips
Aftercare is simple:
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.
A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.
Honest limits
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- A steel bath rusted through
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
Should you replace it?
Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair deals only with the damage in a single visit.

Your questions about bath repair in NP25
Will the price change on the day?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Do you work in NP25?
Yes. We work across the UK and travel to NP25 and the rest of Monmouthshire. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Most baths can be used the following day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Will I be able to see the repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Is there any odour?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
