What affects the price in Maypole
Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:
- The colour and finish to match
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Quotes from your pictures
You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:
- Where you are, by postcode
- One picture of the entire bath
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
Send us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your TR21 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Bath re-enamelling in Maypole, done in place
We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, so we do not cut corners on it. We regularly repair acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths, and common reasons people get in touch are enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and lots of chips and rust spots.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Landlord and trade work in Maypole
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will handle the rest.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Resurfacing takes one technician and generally a day, with the bath back in use the next day. Prices start from £350. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

- Every repair guaranteed for a year

FAQs for Maypole
Can you resurface a pink bath in white?
Yes, white is the usual choice. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
How long does re-enamelling last?
It depends on preparation, use and care. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and it’s guaranteed for a year.
What information do you need?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Is there a guarantee?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Typically, yes. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.
Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Fix dripping taps quickly
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
Rinse away dyes, oils and bath bombs straight after use, because they can mark the finish. Repair dripping taps promptly.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
How it works
Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. It normally takes most of the day, and we will keep you posted as we go.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.
Before we arrive
- Clear the area around the damage
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Advice
When a repair isn’t the answer
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Holes rusted through the metal
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
Repairs by material
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
