Trusted bath re-enamelling in Millholme

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Don’t use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use

Wipe the bath dry after use where you can, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

How we handle bath re-enamelling in Millholme

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. Common call-outs are for chips and rust in more than one place and staining under the taps and around the waste, in cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit.

What we’re called out for in Millholme

Enamel does not fail overnight. Years of cleaning, hard water and hot baths dull the surface, normally first under the taps and around the waste.

Clients generally contact us about:

  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • A coloured bath you want in white
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

How to compare quotes

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The type of damage

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Millholme. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is usually much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • No need to remove anything
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A metal bath with a through crack

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays

Questions from Millholme

What information do you need?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Will the new finish last?

That depends on preparation and how the bath is treated. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and it’s guaranteed for a year.

Are there extra charges for Millholme?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes. Inside and out.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What we do, step by step

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes the best part of a day, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Open a window if you can
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
