Bath re-enamelling in Mordon, done in place
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. We regularly repair Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths, and common reasons people contact us are chips and rust in more than one place and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Mordon as everywhere else we work.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Why Mordon customers choose us

The process
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a full day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
How to prepare
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
Ask for a price
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos through our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Looking after it afterwards
It’s all simple stuff:
- Repair dripping taps early
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Respect the curing time we give you
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
When we’d advise against a repair
We won’t take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- A bath split right through the body
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What affects the price in Mordon
Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:
- How many items we do on one visit
- Access to the area
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How hard the colour is to match
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
How to get a fixed price
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- The material, if you know it
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Mordon
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes, we do this regularly. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Will you leave a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
What do you need from me?
Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes, white is the usual choice. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.
What happens after I send pictures?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
