Bath re-enamelling near Moulton

Bath re-enamelling in Moulton without replacing anything

Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. Whether it’s worn patches where water runs and sits and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, we can help.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A bath split right through the body
  • Steel that has corroded right through
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we work on in Moulton

  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a bath can take several days across several trades. Re-enamelling is one technician, usually one day, and the bath is usable the day after. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Moulton?

Hard water speeds up the wear, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Stains that won’t shift
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Enamel that is lost its shine and feels rough

Before booking anyone

  • Who will actually do the work
  • How long it needs to cure
  • How your room will be protected
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Choosing a repair company

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best:

  • Do not leave a chip unrepaired
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Store bottles off the bath

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.

On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading and make the job bigger. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a full day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material
  • Whether we combine several jobs

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Moulton: your questions answered

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Do you resurface freestanding baths?

Yes. Inside and out if you’d like.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Do you cover Moulton?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Moulton and the rest of Cheshire West and Chester. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there a smell?

Yes, while we are applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

What do you need from me?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
